Partner, Virgin Unite who sponsors our ARMS program via CIDA's Women and Men on the Move Program invited Estelle to share with our students...Estelle the singer popularly known for her smash hit 'American Boy' was born in West London in 1980... She is one of eight children, born to a Senegalese mother and a father from Greneda and as the students from CIDA City Campus intimately witnessed- has quit apologizing for her talent. Estelle showed up at CIDA and told our students to quit apologizing for who you are... she made it clear that if you are great, be great, she said emphatically- "Do YOU". Our students didn't let her off the hook easy though... Dineo Bontes asked Estelle in a Q&A session- What is your brand? Estelle smiled and responded- "To change the music world and to be the best artist on the music scene while being a respected business woman"! She said, "I'm happy with how the market sees me at the moment and I plan to continue striving for my goals because I'm not where I want to be yet". Estelle is an Ambassador for Virgin Unite and helped launch our Women and Men on the Move community learning project about 4years ago which is the program Armabrand partners with to run the ARMs leadership program. We are proud to be associated with such a passionate and engaged woman who is clearly an example for all of our students. Estelle, we wish you all the best as you continue to build your brand and we look forward to working with you in the future!
